HDD Drill Pipe

Horizontal directional drilling pipe is used for crossing waterways, roadways, shore approaches, congested areas, environmentally sensitive areas, and areas where other methods are costlier or not possible. HDD drill pipe is used instead of other techniques to provide less traffic disruption, lower cost, deeper or longer installation, no access pit, shorter completion times, directional capabilities, and environmental safety.

Features of HDD Drill Pipe

1. Transfer and adjusting the pressure from drill rig to drill bit.
2. Transfer the torque from drill rig to drill bit during drilling.
3. Back enlarge and drag the tension and torque from drill rig when laying pipelines.
4. Bear the tensional stress when unload the drill joint, and also support the peak torque when the moment of drilling.
5. Bear the shake and impulse load from rub of the joint and the drill tool with the wall of the hole.
6. Bear the bending fatigue loading when the drill hole is push-and-pull.
7. Transport the pressure medium (liquid or gas) to the bottom of the hole when drilling.
8. When transmission the signal in the bottom of the bore with cable, signal cable continue by a specially designed drill pipe.

Application

Horizontal directional drilling pipe is used for installing infrastructure, such as telecommunications and power cable conduits, water lines, sewer lines, gas lines, oil lines, product pipelines, and environmental remediation casings.
